  10. WESTBORO, Mass., Oct. 15, 1990 --  Banyan Systems today announced
  11. the creation of a new organization, Advanced Network Services,
  12. which will provide network consulting services designed to help
  13. customers get the best possible value from their investments in
  14. VINES products and technology for mission-critical corporate-wide
  15. applications. The consulting services, delivered through the
  16. company's Value Added Resellers, will help facilitate VINES
  17. implementations, increase network performance, optimize application
  18. solutions, and reduce network operating costs. Advanced Network
  19. Services consultants work in partnership with Banyan's resellers to
  20. deliver network consulting services to end user customers.

  22. According to James D. D'Arezzo, Banyan Vice President, Marketing,
  23. "Banyan has a long-standing reputation for providing
  24. technologically superior networking products. But technology alone
  25. is not enough to assure that customers get the optimal benefit from

  28. effective ways that Banyan -- working through its authorized

  51. design and performance analysis, and a review of physical network
  52. characteristics. The final product is a comprehensive written
